The Yolo County Fair Board of Directors is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Bart F. Vannucci as its next Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Mrs. Rita Moore, who is retiring after serving in this capacity since 2008.
The Board’s CEO Search Committee reviewed approximately 20 applications and interviewed six very qualified candidates. After a thorough and multifaceted open process, the Committee recommended Mr. Vannucci to the full Board, who voted unanimously to accept the recommendation.
Vannucci, a successful business owner and long-time civic volunteer, has a strong relationship with the Yolo County Fair community. For many years, he has been a volunteer and served as Livestock Chair with the local 4-H community and has been instrumental in the operation of the annual Spring Show. He grew up in the rural area of the county, and serves as a volunteer observer for the Yolo County Sheriff’s Aero Squadron. He was appointed to the Fair Board in 2012. His long relationship and understanding of the fairground property, structures and the accompanying issues will stand him in good stead as he helps lead the Fair in the coming years.
“Bart has a wealth of hands-on business experience that will enable him to lead the Fair’s economic development and strengthen our presence in the greater community. His strong reputation as a leader has always been an asset to the Fair, and as CEO, it will be even greater.” said Board Chair Anthony Robert.
Former Board Chair Katie Villegas, who chaired the Search Committee, agreed enthusiastically. “It has always been a pleasure to work with Bart. We can always count on him to be there, sleeves rolled up and ready to work.”
Vannucci has an aggressive 90-day plan to deepen his understanding of the considerable resources the Association has in its staff and Board members, and work to develop a long-term business plan.
